If you are looking for a new, fun and wholesome way to spend your Sundays with your family, then the Vegan Goods Market in Tokai is where you need to go! You can get your weekly groceries of fresh produce, amazing food, as well as home and body products, all from a variety of small businesses who believe in cruelty free products and services.
WHAT TO EXPECT
There are over 50 vendors at the market, all offering a wide variety of delicious vegan food and beverages that is both savoury and sweet. Aside from the delectable food and beverages, there are also local, handcrafted cruelty free home and body care products. There is ample parking space so no need to worry about leaving at ridiculously early hours on a Sunday morning to look for parking. They also provide plenty of shade and seating, with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards, the perfect outdoor setting to spend your summer Sundays! Kids not really in the mood to shop? No problem, as there are Playstations and games to keep them entertained for hours, which are all supervised. And while the kids are playing games, the adults can enjoy a refreshing beer or glass of wine at the bar, serving all vegan friendly beers and wine. You can also expect live performances from local up-and-coming Musicians. There are also adoption and fostering opportunities available.
Make sure to also check out the Vegan Thrift Market, which is a collaboration that happens at every market, where you can shop from a curated selection of goods, thrift and hand made, right next door to the market.
BRING YOUR DOGS ALONG
You are more than welcome to bring along your four-legged family members as they are warmly and greatly welcomed at the market. There are, however, 6 rules that the market asks you to abide by:
Dogs are not allowed in the main market marquee as they need to be kept away from the food, fresh produce, plants and other home & body products.
Dogs must be kept on a leash.
Dogs must be kept under control and by their human companion’s side at all times.
Please be aware of your furry companion’s temperament at the market when in contact with other dogs and people.
Be considerate – not everyone loves dogs and some people are allergic to animals.
Do not forget to clean up if your furry companion has made a little mess.
The next market will be happening on the 30th of January from 10am to 3pm. You can find it at The Range in Tokai, you will find the entrance on Orpen Road. Entry fee is free, which makes the market even better than what it already is.
Make sure to check out the Vegan Goods Market this Sunday! And if you are interested in traveling whether virtually or in-person, and would love to come to Cape Town, then you should book a free Concierge session with us. Alternatively, you could have a customized virtual experience set up for you.
